The Boston Red Sox juggernaut is zooming toward [[text missing]] 1946 American League pennant, and it will take [[text missing]] Yankees or Senators, traveling in ram-jet propel- [[text missing]] rockets to catch them. Detroit, 14 games off the [[text missing]], may have a wild chance. As for the others [[text missing]] be lucky to stick within 30 games of the baffling Bosox. All of the second division teams are at least 20 games to the rear of Boston, with the Red Sox promising to make it more.

Just for the record, it might be noted here that the Sox won their 12th straight game as they slugged out a 10-5 verdict over Lou Boudreau's Cleveland Indians. It was also their 19th consecutive Fenway Park win over western American League clubs. The win was their 41st against only 9 setbacks. That, Mr. Bones, is a record.

As for the game itself, Bob Klinger, who relieved starter Charlie Wagner in the fifth after Boudreau and Pat Searey had pounded homers for the Indians in the fourth, was the winner. Rod Embree was tagged with the loss for the Tribe.

As for the New Yorkers, Detroit beat them 8-3. They didn't have a chance. Hank Greenberg, blasting his 14th to take the lead in the league, and Dick Wakefield cracking his fourth, hit homers for Detroit.

On the mound, it was lefty Hal Newhouser, using his blazing fast ball, racking up his 10th win against 2 losses. Floyd Bevens was the loser for the Yanks.

The Chicago White Sox shaded the A's in Philadelphia, 1-0. Round Edgar Smith, hurling five hit ball,
