For the first time in the history of Tyndall Field, the entire military personnel massed in formation Friday morning, April 13, and then passed in review after hearing the War Department's announcement of the [[underlined]]death of Franklin D. Roosevelt,[[/underlined]] President of the United States. The announcement was made by Col. John W. Persons, post commander, who may be seen in the top picture reviewing the troops with members of his staff.
