Yawata - Steel mills produced 26% of Japan's [[rolled?]] steel.
Smoke from a Firebomb raid on these mills on August 7, 1945 obliterated the arsenal at Kokura on August 9, preventing the atomic bomb drop. Bock's Car proceeded to the secondary target, Nagasaki.
