Hiroshima remembered
Randy Green, Mike Copp and Bill Jones, all of Columbia City, flew to Lorain, Ohio, recently to meet some men who were involved in one of the most historic moments in aviation history.

The men attended an air show and met the crew of the Enola Gay, the bomber that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima on Aug. 6, 1945.

Pictured at the table are (l-r) Major Thomas Ferebee , bombardier; Paul W. Tibbets, then colonel, pilot; and Capt. Theodore VanKirk, navigator.

The three men talked with Bill Jones, right, who obtained their autographs on aerial pictures he took as a member of the Army Air Corps shortly after the blast.

On the trip to Ohio, Green was pilot; Copp was navigator and Jones was photographer.
