to run hot. Rodgers landed at Rivare, Ind., and waited about one hur for Special train to arrive so his mechanicians could fix leak in his gasoline tank. It was then too dark for further flight, so Rodgers and entire party were taken to Huntington, Ind., where banquet had been arranged for by the Huntington, Times Democrat.  Special reached Huntington at 7:22 P.M.

October 1st, (Sunday) Rodgers and Special train left Rivare, Ind at 8:53 A.M. Special arrived at Decatur, Ind., at 9:05 A.M. At Decatur, Rodgers left the line of the Erie and flew south in order to run around some very bad storm clouds. On account of rain and high winds he was compelled to land at Geneva, Ind., 18 miles south of Decatur, Ind., on the GR&I R.R. He left Geneva at 3:26 P.M. and arrived at Huntington, Ind., at 4:34 P.M., flying via Bluffton and Uniondale, Ind. Special train left Decatur at 4:32 P.M. and arrived Huntington at 5:19 P.M.

October 2nd, 3rd, and 4th were spent at Huntington, Ind:, ^[[X]] repairing aeroplane.

October 5th Special train and Rodgers left Huntington at 11:35 A.M.  Rodgers landed 3 miles east of Aldine account being cold.  Also found tube leading from aixilary to main gasoline tank clogged. This was repaired. On this second attempt to fly he broke a rear skid. On his fourth attempt to fly he took the air at 4:44 P.M. and landed in Hammond, Ind., at 5:55 P.M., the Special train making the same time.

Delayed at Hammond, Ind., 6th and 7th account of high wind. Left Hammond at 10:30 A.M., arrived Chicago 11:58 A.M. October 8th.

On arrival of the Vin Fiz Special via Erie at Chicago October 8th, our Special car, Erie 191, was switched to the C&A. Special train was made up at Union Station, Chicago, consisting of Day coach, Combination Sleeper and Buffet Car, our Special Vin Fiz Car, Erie 191, and with engine left Union Station, Chicago, via C&A, 3:30 P.M. October 8th; arrived Joliet 5:23 P.M. same day, 38 miles.  Remained there the night of the 8th and left Joliet at 8:30 A.M. Oct. 9th.

Arrived Streator 10:05 A.M. where Rodgerslanded for oil and gasoline; left Streator at 11:45 A.M. arrived Peoria 12:28 P.M., where Rodgers landed for oil and gasoline, also for advertising purposes. Left Peoria at 3:08 P.M. arrived Middletown, Ill., 4:12 P.M., where Rodgers again landed for oil and gasoline;left Middletown at 5:00 P.M., arrived Springfield 5:37 P.M., 181 miles. We remained Springfield overnight; left Springfield at 8:50 A.M., October 10th, arrived Nebo at 10:25. Rodgers landed for oil and gasoline, leaving Nebo at 11:27 A.M.; arrived two miles west of Thompson at 1:30 P.M. where Rodgers landed account engine trouble. Left Thompson at 3:01 P.M., arrived Marshall at 4:54 P.M., 207 miles. Remained in Marshall over night and left there at 8:31 A.M. October 11th. Arrived at Blue Springs, Mo., 9:58 A.M., where Rodgers landed for oil and gasolene; left Blue Springs at 10:55 A.M., arrived Kansas City 11:45 A.M., 85 miles. We were delayed at Kansas City the 12th and 13th account of rain.
