It was here that our trip was practically terminated. In order to make Mr. Rodgers' flight complete, it was his intention to fly to Long Beach and fly over the water, making it a cost to coast flight, but in attempting to make this flight Sunday, Nov. 12th, Mr. Rodgers had a very bad accident a few miles from Pasedena, falling 125 feet and completely wrecking his machine, and receiving severe injuries himself. Understand he will be able to again attempt this flight within the next ten days.

On arrival at Pasedena November 5th, Pullman car was released and turned over and train was busted up. Our Vin Fiz special car was to be used by Mr. Rodgers and for advertising purposes on the flight to Long Beach, and instructions were given to have this car released from service on return trip from Long Beach, which we suppsoed would be Sunday P.M., November 5th. Understand that Mr. Davidson and Mr. Merritt have given instructions that this car be released immediately regardless of trip being completed. Mr. Newborn has been given instructions to notify Mr. Schumacher when the car is released.

The number of people in our party from time to time on the whole trip did not run over twenty-fice. The trip ended with the following people on the train:
