ordered reduced speed. If Cal seemed to be getting out in front, everyone wanted to know what in hell was the matter with our engine. It was on these days too that we had many a hearty laugh.

It had been the idea for Cal to drop these from his plane when passing over cities. After a few attempts Cal abandoned the idea, but on the days [strikethrough]]In[[/strikethrough]] just described we would each get bundles of these small bills, go to the rear platform of the train, and as we passed each station, where a crowd was always assembled gazing up at Cal, we would throw them out. The suction of the train would send them flying up into the air and after the train had passed we could see the crowds scrambling for the "souvenirs from the plane" as they floated down to earth.
