[[newspaper clipping]] COWEN TEAM RUNS SHUTOUTS TO FIVE HOWARD DAVIS TEAM NOW IN LEAD AS FAR AS STRING OF VICTORIES IS CONCERNED The Braxton Central Friday, Nov.29, 1940 Has Longest String Of Victories In The Conference Cowen took the spotlight of the Central W. Va. Conference here Saturday afternoon when the Howard Davis team swamped Sutton 32 to 0. It was Cowen's fourth victory of the season, and the third in a row. No other team in the conference has an unbroken string of three victories. The victory over Sutton was Cowen's easiest triumph of the season, one boy, Miller, carrying the ball across the goal line three times. Another, Been, went over twice, once on a 65-yard trip. Miller took two passes out of the air for 45 and 50-yard scores, and went off tackle 25 for his other. Been made his 65 and 35-yard journeys on reverse plays. The line ups: Cowen 32 Sutton 0
