TO APPLICANTS FOR MEMBERSHIP IN VETERAN AIR PILOTS:

Restrictions upon access to Army, Navy, and C.A.A. flight records, changes in C.A.A. practice, and the wide variance of language and facts used in the proof of solo hours and number of years of certificated flying submitted by applicants, has compelled the Membership Committee to standardize the form of proof of eligibility required for membership in Veteran Air Pilots.

Effective forthwith, the Membership Committee will require proof of eligibility on the following forms:

The following form of certificate must be transcribed [[underlined]] on official C.A.A. Letterhead [/underlined]], signed by the Senior local C.A.A. representative and forwarded with the application:

Gentlemen:

This is to certify that I have this day examined the log book of (Name) ^[[Manila Davis Talley]] (License No.) ^[[C-12889]]
and that his total solo flying time exceeds ^[[2000]] hours.
Applicant certifies that his first solo flight was made (Date) ^[[ Oct. 1929]] at (Place) ^[[Boston Mass]] and that he has been a licensed pilot and his license has been continually valid for ^[[24]] years.
I certify that to the best of my knowledge, the above is true and correct.

II.
For an applicant in military service claiming military time as a basis of qualification, a transcript of his Army or Navy flight records, on the official form, must be signed by his flight officer, certified by the Commanding or Executive Officers of his field or station, and forwarded with the application.

III.
If any unusual circumstance such as a lost log book, the Committee will prescribe such other proof as the facts of the individual case may require.
