He was probably one of the founders of Salem Presbyterian Church, or among the early members, but the earliest session book of the Congregation is lost and the above statement is, therefore, at best an inference. Fortunately, however, the oldest session book, extant, which begins in 1831, throws considerable light on his children and grandchildren. An interesting connection between two branches of the family is the remarriage of Sarah Yongue, widow of David J. Milling, to David Milling of Winnsboro, native of Ireland, and the last of the name to emigrate to America. (See David Milling and Descendents)

Written on the reverse side of the Milling Genealogy (in pen) was the following:

Great Grandfather - Robert Milling married Margaret Nason-lst wife
Margaret Nason Milling died in Sept. 1814.
Robert Milling dies in 1828 - age 63.

Mary Russell, his second wife, died in 1841 age 56.
David J. (my grandfather) son of Robert Milling died Jan. 28, 1848 at age of 28.

Three brothers, David, Hugh and Robert came from Ireland.
