U. S. AVIATORS GO TO CHICAGO.
^[[Sept 5 12]]
Army Men Will Judge the Race for the Gordon Bennett Trophy.

Capt. Charles de F. Chandler, Capt F. B. Hennessey, and Lieut. [[pencil underlined]] Thos. DeWitt Milling, [[/pencil underlined]] three of the aviators at the army aviation school, at College Park, Md., will leave for Chicago today to act as officials in the race for the Gordon Bennett Trophy to be held at the aviation meet which opens there the last of the week.

None of the army aeroplanes are to be shipped, but it is possible that Lieut. Milling will enter the race for the trophy as the representative of the United States army. He is extremely desirous that the United States army carry off the honors and show their superiority over the aviators who have entered from France, England, Holland, Belgium, and Switzerland.
