4. Q. Will a 4000 lb. bomb, properly placed, sink the most modern battleship?

A. Emphatically, yes.

5. Q. How high can one of our present bombing planes carry one of the 4000 lb. bombs?

A. The Barling bomber could undoutedly carry one of these bombs to an altitude of 6000 to 10000 feet. No figures are at present available on the Curtiss bomber.

6. A. What size bomb would it take to sink a modern transport or liner?

A. From 100 to 600 lbs. depending upon its size and construction.

7. Q. How many and what size and kind of bombs do our present pursuit ships carry?

A. 5 - 25 lb. or 2 - 100 lb. personnel, incendiary, or gas bombs.

8. Q. How accurately can these bombs be placed?

A. An average pilot can drop them singly, or sin salvo within a radius of 20 feet.

9. Q. What would be the effect of those bombs if dropped on a ship's dock?

A. They would clear the deck of a ship equipped with deck armor and would require the wearing of gas masks by all personnel on board. They would make difficult, if not impossible, the occupation of fire control, navigation and anti-aircraft stations. On vessels with unprotected decks, their consequences would be absolutely disastrous.

A.An average pilot can place most of his shots within a radius of 8 feet.
