       16. Their equipment consists of French Breguets with 300 h.p. Renault engines. These have the full equipment which the French use on this class of airplanes, including the Michelin bomb sight and bomb mechanism. They have bombs of various sizes up to the 100 kilo. Their pursuit aviation is being equipped with Nieuport 29's with 300 h.p. Hispano engines. This ship is being built in Siam from French drawings and are checked up with two French build airplanes. The work appears to be pretty good on the Siamese built planes but the wood is considerable heavier than the spruce and poplar used by the French so that I believe the finished ship weight about one-third more than the original Nieuport 29. This, of course, outs down its characteristics in every way. They only have ten of these at the present time. Their school equipment consists of various sizes of Nieuport planes with rotary engines: 23 meter, 18 meter, 15 meter, and 13 meter. All of their methods are entirely French as is everything about their aeronautical organization.
       17. The king is very much interested in aviation. In the talk I had with him, he told me that he hopes to develop this service as far as his money will allow. He hopes not only to use it for national defense but also so to develop his aviation so that
