of probable notion of enemy pursuit against our bombardment. This may be just after the bombing flight has released its bombs. After combat the bombardment aviation will be supported until further danger of attack against it is removed.

(c)  Pursuit in assisting the mission of observation aviation will clear the sector to be reconnoitered of enemy pursuit with offensive patrols strong enough to bring about the desired effect.

Pursuit on the defensive will not be kept in the air in small flights. A strong concentration will be held ready to take the air from the alerts in case of hostile attack against such vulnerable areas such as Schofield Barracks, Pearl Harbor District, Fort Ruger, Fort Armstrong, Fort Shafter, and the [[?]] and Schofield water reservoirs. The approach of the hostile air force will be signalled by wire or radio message and their later positions indicated by shell bursts from our anti-aircraft batteries.
