The First Day Bombardment Group (the 11th, 20th, and 96th Squadrons) were to be held in reserve for the purpose of bombing any enemy concentrations leading on the main roads around the vicinity of Vigneulles.

PURSUIT
The French Air Division was to be ready to operate on D-2, but was to be used only in case the activity of hostile aviation should make it necessary to strengthen Army pursuit groups and then only in such proportions as was deemed absolutely necessary to prevent hostile reconnaissance inside our lines.

The Army Pursuit Aviation (four groups) was to insure the protection on/of the Front and of our Observation aviation at every altitude from the Verdun-Etain road as far as the region northeast of Nancy. It was to carry out offensive patrols, attack balloons and troops on the ground, but only when specifically ordered to do so. Specifically the First Pursuit Group was to operate between the line Verdun-Eix-Etain and the line Spada-Hendicourt, while the First Pursuit Wing was to operate between the line Spada-Vigneulles and the line Nancy-Solgne. The density, the strength, the altitude and the general mode of employment of the patrols was to be determined according to the variations of the enemy and to the missions which had to be fulfilled. 

ARMY RECONNAISSANCE
Photographic reconnaissance was to be carried out by the Army Observation Group (24th and 91st Squadrons) beyond the line Pagny-sur-Moselle preny-Jaulyn-St. Benoit Vigneulles Doncourt-Aux_Templiers Meisery-Etain and the Met-Comflas-Etain Railway.
