On the next day, September 28th, the weather continued very poor for the employment of aviation. The visibility in the early morning was practically nothing, but improved somewhat in the late afternoon. Heavy, low hanging clouds, with intermittent showers continued throughout the day. The activity of the enemy aviation was not greatly pronounced. In the early morning a few patrols, consisting of from 6 to 7 planes, were sighted well inside the enemy lines; but as the day progressed, the activity became much less. No attempts were made by enemy observation planes to carry on reconnaissances over the front at any time during the day. A few balloons were in ascension in the early morning, but after a very successful raid by our [[strikethrough]] pursuing [[/strikethrough]] pursuit planes, none of them reascended.
