Artillery and Army Corps Aviation
1. Carry out orders of Corps and Army Artillery Commanders
2. Photographs of destruction
3. Observation of Artillery fire - surveillance and command.

Balloons
1. Surveillance - to be used almost entirely during the middle of the day
2. For adjustment of Artillery fire
3. Comparison between Corps and Army balloons. Uselessness. 

Attack of first Day
1. Plan as determined upon for concentration of units and observance of secrecy well carried out - due in large measure no doubt to poor weather
2. Weather conditions - low clouds - intermittent rain - wind storms
3. All aviation out at daylight
4. Enemy concentrated. Before no patrols. On this day 2 of 15 encountered. 

Pursuit
1. Barrage patrols. 
2. Bad weather - were called upon for reconnaissance - penetrated salient to
