These army officers will figure in the trial of Col. "Billy" Mitchell, which started here today.

To the left is Maj. Gen. C. P. Summerall, commander of the Second Corps Area, who withdrew as president of the court today when Rep. Reid, Mitchells chief counsel, challenged him as biased.

To the right is Maj. Gen. Fred W. Sladen, superintendent of the Military Academy at West Point, who also withdrew from the court on Reid's challenge.

Above reading from left to right are:

Col. H. A. White, Mitchell's military counsel.
Col. Sherman Moreland, judge advocate, Mitchell's prosecutor.

And the following eight members of the court:

Maj. Gen. Robert L. Howze, commander Second Corps Ares, Columbus, O., who today was elected president of the court to succeed Summerall.
Maj. Gen. Douglas McArthur, commander of the Third Corps Area, Baltimore.
Maj. Gen. W. S. Graves, commander Sixth Corps Area, Chicago.
Maj. Gen. Benjamin A. Poore, commander Seventh Corps Area, Omaha.
Brig. Gen. Frank R. McCoy, commander Third Infantry Brigade, Ft. Sam Houston, Tex.
Brig. Gen. Edward L. King, commandant Army Service School, Ft. Leavenworth, Kan.
Brig. Gen. Ewing E. Booth, commandant cavalry school, Ft. Riley, Kan.
Col. Blanton Winship, First Corps Area headquarters, Boston.

A line outside of the Emory building in which the trial is in progress was formed at daybreak. Every available seat and standing space inside was soon filled.
