ASSISTANT CHIEF OF THE ARMY AIR SERVICE AND LIEUTENANT CLAYTON BISSELL WHO WAS IN CHARGE OF THE BOMBING SQUADRON WHICH HELPED SINK THE GERMAN VESSELS SEEN AS THEY LEFT THE UNITED STATES CAPITOL AFTER TESTIFYING BEFORE THE HOUSE AI RCRAFT [[AIRCRAFT]] INQUIRY COMMITTEE TODAY.

Brig. Gen. William Mitchell, Assistant Chief of the Army Air Service, (left), and Lt. Clayton Bissell, U. S. A., who was in charge of the bombing squadron which helped sink the German ships, seen leaving the U. S. Capitol today after appearing before the House Aircraft Inquiry Committee. Brig. Gen. Mitchell confirmed the report telling in detail of the successful bonbing [[bombing]] of the German vessels in 1921, which he previously made to the committee, which led to the calling of the Arms Conference by the Late President Harding. Lt. Bissell said they had followed instructions in the sinking of the German ships. Gen. Mitchell produced Army orders answering the charges of disobeying Naval orders in the bombing of the German vessels.
