Ekra Mathieu was one of the pioneers of the African trade Union in 1944. He was the leader of the Mass Movement which took place at Grand-Bassam in 1949.

In 1956 he became M.P.S. and ambassador in the United Nations - In 1960 and Minister in 1961. He is one of the senior politicians of the Ivory Coast and co-Author of the National Anthem.

Now that he's "there," Pride hopes his duties will allow time to recruit other blacks for top-level positions in advertising. The firm has annual billings in the neighborhood of $100 million.
