The Ivory Coast is spending some $183m. in the 1970s in developing its tourist facilities. The West Coast of Africa is close to most of the tourist-generating centres than is East or South Africa, which could soon become saturated.
With the increase in cheap charter and package tours, tourists may turn more and more to West Africa and in particular to the Ivory Coast, where the extent and sophistication of the facilities have already proved a powerful magnet to many businessmen seeking relaxation.
