50th GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY CONCLAVE

1923 - 1973
The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa is a professional organization of women in the field of Education and related fields. Organized in May, 1923, by eight young teachers of Jersey City, New Jersey, we are celebrating our 50th Anniversary this year.
The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa is dedicated to the task of training youth of America to cope satisfactorily and effectively with today's problems and firmly believes education to be a potent factor in maintaining and perpetuating democracy as the most ideal form of life.
Our Five Point National Program includes Teach-A-Rama for professional growth, ethics, attitudes and cultural standards. Our Reading Centers are designed to aid children and youth with special reading problems—also the gifted, retarded, physically retarded, mentally handicapped and educationally deprived.
Special emphasis is placed upon our youth Guidance Group—Xinos or Tops. These are High School girls for whom we have a carefully planned and organized program, including a three day conference annually.
Scholarships are awarded each year, in the approximate amount of $50,000.00 to students matriculating in the field of Education. We are sincerely and justly proud of the achievements of our scholarship recipients.
We also sponsor and maintain a Children's Library in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa and a Recreation Room for children and youth at the John A. Andrew Memorial Hospital, Tuskogee [[Tuskegee]], Alabama. During the month of December each chapter plans and implements a special project for deprived children or the aging.
We also emphasize Black Studies; test-taking techniques; integration and coaching for adults. Above all, we encourage the youth to stay in school.
We are comprised of 77 chapters, whose dedication to our purpose and philosophy have perpetuated our progress during this half century. Our sincere thanks to our Founders, who had a dream. Let us keep the dream growing and ask God's richest blessings upon our sorority as we celebrate our Golden Anniversary.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth H. Henry, Supreme Basileus
