USE OF FUNDS

The Congressional Black Caucus employs a staff headed by Dr. Augustus Adair, executive director, with offices in the Annex House, room 306, Washington, D.C. (202/ 225-1691). The staff is engaged in research on the problems of America's great cities and its' disadvantaged citizens. Funds from the annual dinner underwrite this essential staff work which provides the important undergirding of the Caucus' legislative activities.

The Caucus itself is a non-partisan group comprised of the 16 black representatives in Congress. It recently reoriented its priorities, under the leadership of Louis Stokes of Ohio, to focus on its potential as a major voting block in the legislative machinery of the House of Representatives.
