The Ancient, Egyptian Arabic Order, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine of North and South America and its Jurisdiction, Inc., Prince Hall affiliated, is a benevolent, charitable and fraternal organization in America in every sense of the word.

Its membership is dedicated to the welfare and extension of Prince Hall masonry and to its major programs of benevolent, worldwide.

Its ladies auxiliary, the Imperial Court, Daughters of Isis, is similar in nature. Its membership is composed of daughters, mothers, sisters, widows and wives of those Prince Hall masons who are also PH Shriners.

Membership in this predominantly black fraternal body are held by some of the most outstanding and illustrious personalities in these United States. These include Unitew Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall; Major General Harry William Brooks Jr., one of the youngest military officers, black or white, ever nominated by a President of the USA to be promoted to the rank of general in peacetime; musicians Count Basie and Lional Hampton, noted band leaders; Bishop H.Z. Plummer, nationally known church leader from Virginia;Doctor J. H. Jackson and Doctor W. L. Ransome, outstanding religious leaders of America; All-American footballers, Kenneth William of Ohio and Kenneth Washington of California; Elton Smith Jr. first black superintendent of a public school system in Va. and perhaps in the nation; and Tom Bradley, Theodore M. Berry, Maynard R. Jackson and Charles R. Lightner, mayors of metropolitan cities in the USA.

Many of the schriners named above will be attending the 82nd annual Imperial Council session in New Orleans, La. in August of 1975.

Citizens not familiar with the programs of Prince Hall schrinedom often refer to Shriners as "playboys of masonry." This is not true. The various charitable, civic, economic and educational development programs of the order strive daily to make itself known and useful in local, state and national communities. Temples and courts throughout the world sponsor public programs annually and all net proceeds from such programs are earmarked and usually donated to a charitable or humanitarianism cause.

Prince Hall shriners and Daughters of Isis members are seen on many occasions, both public and private, dressed in their gaily colored costumes and wearing their bright red fezzes (the women wear white). This is done during parades, indoor programs and pageants, and during drill exhibitions.
