They weren't supposed to - but he literally brought the douse down as a last-minute replacement for a little girl who had been cast as Nurse Clara Barton. Presently preparing the 3rd of four network specials for the 1975 season, March 14, 1975, Flip is aiming at another new plateau in his comedy career. He also admits to being a long-range planner of sorts with projects on the drawing board for motion pictures, his Little David Records (named for his son) and even Broadway. [[Headline appearing center page]] Black College All-American Inducts 22 Players [[Text]] A total of 22 outstanding black collegians from 47 colleges and universities making up the country's four black college football conferences and eight independent institutions were honored on December 18, 1974. The offensive and defensive squads, comprising the second annual Black College All-American football team, were selected by a consensus of the schools' athletic direc- tors and conference commissioners. Chevrolet Motor Division and the Mutual Black Radio Network again this year sponsored the Black College All- American football team. In a repeat performance, Walter Payton, a Jackson State (Miss.) College running back and defensive tackle Gary Johnson, of Brambling College in Louisiana, were chosen as offensive and defensive players of the year respectively. The two All-Americans earned $5,000 scholarships in their names which were presented to school officials for each school's general scholarship fund.
