Hobson Reynolds, Grand Exalted Ruler of the Elks, has distinguished the order by being a holder of a Doctor of Laws degree from Bethune Cookman College, a Doctor of Laws degree from Allen University and was elected to the Pennsylvania General Assembly in 1934 and 1938. Dr. Reynolds was cited by the Afro American Newspaper for distinguished public service in 1949. Served President Franklin D. Roosevelt as an observer at the formation of the United Nations and has served as an observer at the formation of the United Nations and has served on the Pennsylvania Labor Commission as a Referee in Workmen's Compensation from 1950-55. A former Grand Director of Elks Department of Civil Liberties, Mr. Reynolds was elected Grand Exalted Ruler of the Imperial Benevolent Protection Order of Elks of the World in 1960.

NETTIE B. SMITH

Grand Daughter Ruler Nettie B. Smith joined Eureka Temple Number 22 in 1921 and has served the Order in numerous capacities from the Gate to the Daughter Rulers station since that time.

Now in her sixth term as Grand Daughter Ruler, her administration has proven her ability as a leader for fair play, honesty and sincerity of purpose to all as she desires to help build Elkdom, numerically, financially and Spiritually.

A holder of numerous citations, plaques and awards from numerous civic and community organizations other than the Elks, Daughter Ruler Smith is a nationally known church worker, a former President of the Women's Society for Christian Service, a former Executive Member of the Manhattan Council of Church women; member of the YWCA, NAACP and the National Council of Negro Women.
