Mr. Griffin is presently Vice President, Management Planning for CBS, Inc., the parent corporation for CBS's Broadcasting, Recording, Publishing and Consumer Products Groups. In his Corporate post, located at Company Headquarters in New York City, he is responsible for directing the nation-wide activities of the following departments: Recruitment & Placement, Education and Training, Management Development, Resource Planning, Employee Relations, Personnel Policy, Affirmative Action Planning and Corporate Personnel Counseling.

Prior to joining CBS, M. Griffin was Vice President for Corporate Administration at Kenyon & Eckhardt, Inc., (a worldwide advertising and communications corporation also headquartered in New York City) from October 1970 to March 1974. There, he directed the Personnel Department, worked as Associate Legal Counsel (handling all of the agency's domestic legal matters) and  directed the Corporate Service Departments for all Kenyon & Eckhardt offices (8 domestic, 12 international).

Before joining Kenyon & Eckhardt, Mr. Griffin was Manager of Labor Relations and Urban Affairs with the Bristol-Myers Company from May 1968 to October 1970. From September 1964 to May 1968 he was employed by the Mobil Oil Corporation in a variety of industrial relations and legal capacities, culminating in his acting as Legal Counsel to the North American Division of the Corporation.

Born in Columbia, South Carolina on August 22, 1938, Mr. Griffin attended the Waverly Elementary School and Booker T. Washington High School in that City. He received his B.A. degree in 1959 from Dartmouth College, majoring in English. In 1962 he was graduated from the Columbia Law School receiving a Juris Doctor Degree with specialization in Corporate and Labor Law.

Mr. Griffin is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the American Society for Personnel Administration (board member 1971-1973), the National Alliance of Businessmen's Task Force on Youth Motivation; the Council of Concerned Black Executives (board member 1968-1973, Legal Counsel 1969-1972), the National Association of Market Developers, the Advertising Club, the American Management Association, 100 Black Men of New York, and has served for several years as a member of the Advisory Board of the National Urban League's Black Executive Exchange Program.

In addition, Mr. Griffin has held the following Board of Directors' memberships: Freedom National Bank (1972-1975), International Radio and Television Society (197011974), Unity Broadcasting, Inc. (Parent Company of National Black Network) (1973-1975), the Studio Museum of Harlem (1973-1974), Inter-Racial Council on Business Opportunity (1973-1975) and Kenyon & Eckhardt (1973-1975).

Finally, in 1972, Mr. Griffin was selected as a White House Task Force member to perform inspection tours of American European Military Bases.
