NASA was the recipient of a special award from the Committee on Social Justice of the National Association for Public Continuing and Adult Education, at the organization's recently held Chicago conference. The Space Agency was recognized for the development of the ATS-6 Satellite, which is known as the "Teacher in the Sky".  n addition to NASA, other awards fent to individuals who have made contributions in the fight to eliminate world illiteracy.

Shown here: (L-R) Mrs. Robin Owens of Flint, Michigan, who complied[[sp]] an outstanding record of volunteerism in her home city; NASA's Deputy Assistant Administrator, Mrs. Ruth Bates Harris, who represented NASA at the awards ceremonies, and Ms. Dotun Laja, of Nigeria, who had trained many of her countrymen and women in health care activities.

Members of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs Inc. attended the recently held annual convention of the National Council of Negro Women, in Washington, D.C.
