Jane Tillman Irving joined WCBS/Newsradio 88 in July, 1972, as a general assignment reporter. She continues to operate in that capacity but has the added responsibility of writing, producing and broadcasting the station's daily ACCESS series. (Monday thru Friday, 12:38 PM, repeated at 7:25 PM). Ms. Irving also serves as moderator for the half-hour ACCESS: SATURDAY AFTERNOON, broadcast weekly at 8:06-8:30 PM.

Ms. Irving came to CBS from WWRL, where she had been a writer and a reporter since 1970. She also produced and anchored special half-hour documentaries while at the station. 

Earlier in her career, Ms. Irving was a reporter with the Community News Service, specializing in news of the Harlem area.

After graduating from City College of New York in 1969, Ms. Irving attended the Radcliffe College Publishing Procedures Course in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is presently working toward a Master of Arts degree in American Literature. While an undergraduate Ms. Irving wrote an English honors paper on "The Harlem Novel: 1923-29." She resides in Manhattan.
