From its small beginnings in 1876, Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corp. has grown to become the third largest tobacco manufacturer in the United States.

Much of this growth is due to a spirit of progressiveness and dedication of its more than 9,000 employees. The company takes great pride in the individual contributions these men and women have made to the company's success and its position of leadership in the industry

Brown & Williamson operates three large modern factories-at Louisville, Ky., Petersburg, Va., and Macon, Ga.-primarily for the manufacturing of the popular cigarette brands: Kool, Viceroy, Raleigh, Belair and Fact. In addition, the company operates a plant for the manufacturing of snuff, chewing and pipe tobaccos at Winston-Salem, N.C. and a leaf processing plant at Lexington, Ky.
