MEET THE PRESIDENTS - THEY ALL HAVE GIVEN MUCH FOR THE CONTINUED GROWTH

Elijah Alexander Hamilton - 1919 - The Elijah Hamilton Tag day remains a great memory to him.

William H. Davis - 1920 - The William H. Davis Honor Club remains a symbol of his great leadership.

Allen A. C. Griffith, Sr. - 1940 - The Allen A. C. Griffith, Sr. Scholarship remains as a memory to him and the love he had for young people.

Henry Ballard - 1952 - The organization grew spiritually and financially.

R. E. Harshaw, Jr. - 1959 - A dreamer, he brought the idea of a national Scholarship Fund by each usher contributing 52 cents a year—to his memory, this great contribution will live on.

Leroy Johnson - 1964 - To his memory was the thought of a national Shrine - an Ushers' Home.

Raymond Alexander Smith - 1968 - One of his greatest desires - the Holy Land Trip in November 1969 when 33 persons made the tend day pilgrimage.

Harry Daniel - 1973 - Loved by all of his many Vocal Expressing; his health prevented him the real joy of his office, but he never forgot the 1976 theme, "Be Thou Faithful."

Robert Allen - 1976 - A man who always expresses love, kindness and understanding, and by this a warm spirit of Unity and Togetherness is found.

There are many departments that shoulder the work of the National Convention - George T. Grier School of Ushering; C. H. Jones Education, unior and Young People; A. W. Briggs Health Unit; Jessie Burnett Art and Craft; Young Adult; Public Relations; Henry Ballard Chorus; National Bookkeeper and the Historical Society.

As we departed the scene of the 1976 Convention, I could imagine the spirit of our Illustrious Founder and First President smiling down on us. He might have used the words of the familiar hymn, "Blessed Be The Tide That Bind Our Hearts in Christian Love."

The Vision that was in the mind of Hamilton in 1919 has stood the test of time. Many of the pioneers have gone but we shall never forget their memories.
