Just as he predicted, Jimmy Carter won the presidential election on November 2 and thereby will become the first Morehouse man to occupy the White House. 

It is generally recognized that the black vote gave Carter his margin of victory, but it is not widely known that Carter's support by Morehouse alumni and his heavy use of Morehouse publications were major factors in his gaining the black vote. 

Among Carter's leading supporters were Congressman Andrew Young, Dr. Martin Luther King, Sr., Mrs. Coretta Scott King, President Emeritus Benjamin E. Mays, and Atlanta Mayor Maynard Jackson. During his campaign, moreover, Carter duplicated and distributed hundreds of thousands of copies of (1) the citation that President Hugh M. Gloster used in conferring upon him an honorary
