The Northeast Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen is deeply honored to present the coveted First Annual Medal of Achievement Award to [[italic]]General Daniel James, Jr.[[/italic]] Commander-in-Chief of the North American Air Defense and Aerospace Defense Command.

General James, who was born in Pensacola, Florida, has held a variety of top posts with the Air Force and he now has the rank of a Four Star General.

The General has been active in many organizations in addition to being decorated with the Legion of Merit with Oak Leaf Cluster; D.F.C. Air Medal with 10 clusters; named Young Man of the Year Massachusetts 1954; Florida Junior Chamber of Commerce Young Man of the Year 1969; he is also the recipient of the George Washington Freedom Foundation Medal in 1967 and 1968. The Phoenix Urban League award in 1970, and the recipient of several other awards.

We in the Northeast Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen feel privileged and honored to have this opportunity to demonstrate to General James our esteem and admiration.
