LAST YEAR "LIKE IT IS" TOLD IT LIKE IT WAS.

We've been telling it like it is for quite a few years. In fact, 1968, the year Alex Haley began writing "Roots," is the year we began broadcasting and laying down ours.

As the longest running black oriented public affairs program in the New York area, "Like It Is" has uncovered the rich and often painful history of Black Americans through the lives of such giants as Frederick Douglass, Paul Robeson, Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Jr., Duke Ellington, Jackie Robinson, Muhammad Ali and Alex Haley himself.

Under the leadership of Gil Noble, producer and host, "Like It Is" has earned over 50 awards, including three EMMY's. "Like It Is" programs, in response to numerous requests, are being distributed to major educational institutions. While these signs of recognition are gratifying, the real reward comes from doing what you believe in, and telling it like it is.
