"King"—Paul Winfield stars with Emmy Award winner Cicely Tyson in a six-hour drama about the career of Nobel Peace Prize-winning civil rights activist, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who is generally acknowledged to be one of the prime movers in the desegregation process of the 1960s. Ossie Davis, William Jordan and Cliff DeYoung co-star.

Ambassador to the United Nations from the U.S., was the one who made the formal introduction to King.

Mann and King spoke of the film and both were eager to proceed, but Abby ran into difficulty raising money. Once he did, all the pieces fell into place. In addition, the famed writer makes his directorial debut on this project.
