FRIDAY, JULY 14 - Morning free. Afternoon, transfer to airport and fly to Abidjan, IVORY COAST.

SATURDAY, JULY 15 - An Orientation Session by the Office of the Ministry of Health in the morning followed by a discussion of midwifery practices.

SUNDAY, JULY 16 - Morning city sightseeing. Balance of day free.

GHANA

MONDAY, JULY 17 - In the morning fly to Accra, Ghana. Afternoon city tour.

TUESDAY, JULY 18 - IN ACCRA.  Full day at Ghana's Korle Bu Hospital and Medical Center.

THE GAMBIA (ROOTS)

WEDNESDAY, JULY 19 - Late morning departure for Banjul. Meeting and transfer service to your hotel. Balance of day at leisure.

THURSDAY, JULY 20 - IN BANJUL. Full day Cruise/Tour up the River Gambia. Visit Alex Haley's ancestral home, Juffure Village, and meet his relatives, as Binta Kinte. After lunch, cruise to the infamous James Island Fort, a grim reminder of the nefarious slave trade.

SENEGAL

FRIDAY, JULY 21 - BANJUL/DAKAR. Morning visit to Banjul Hospital and discussions with Ministry of Health. Afternoon departure for DAKAR.

SATURDAY, JULY 22 - IN DAKAR. Morning city sight-seeing tour.  Afternoon boat trip to Goree Island, where some 40,000,000 slaves are said to have passed through the hands of the traders.

SUNDAY, JULY 23 - DAKAR/NEW YORK. Morning at leisure—free to visit local churches or catch up on last minute shopping. Late afternoon departure for New York City.
