In replacing the "legend" Charles Rangel has continued and expanded on the "legends's" Community relations programs—even to the extent of holding more community reports, meetings with the people to find out what they want and how he should represent their needs in the Congress of the United States.

Just like his predecessor, Congressman Rangel is an excellent debater of the issues and believes in persuasion and compromise to attain the objectives of his community.
