113,000 strong with over $1.5 billion income.

A sense of dignity and Bell System jobs go hand-in-hand. For Black Americans, it means careers with futures and money that comes into the community to benefit everyone.
In 1977 alone, the Bell System spent more than $124 million with minority-owned firms for goods and services. There's also more than $200 million of Bell System funds on deposit in minority-owned banks. And the Bell System's Black employees earn over a billion and a half dollars annually in wages and salaries.

Chances are you know someone who works for the Bell System.

Throughout the Bell System, there are over 113,000 Black men and women in just about every work category. Many Black employees have important management positions in engineering, science, marketing, administration and other fields.
