National Achievement Clubs is planning major events honoring George Washington Carver the first week in January culminating with a major luncheon in Pittsburgh's William Penn Hotel, January 5. Mrs. Artegious Moncrieff, president, announced that Richard Spence of Rockwell International and Roy Kohler, Gulf Oil Corp. would be co-chairmen of national planning and the 35th Annual Pittsburgh luncheon. The latter is a benefit for Camp Achievement, a summer camping facility founded by the late Alma Illery of Pittsburgh who also persuaded Congress to honor Carver with a stamp, a coin and a week.
