Apply Now for Scholarships From Meares Memorial Fund
Applications for $1,000 scholarship assistance for graduate work in the fields of social services and criminal justice are now being requested for the George E. Meares Memorial Scholarship Fund, according to an announcement by Mrs. Minnie J. Meares, who established the fund in honor of her husband, the 26th Grand Basileus of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. 
Scholarships are open to all U.S. Citizens whose goals are focussed on service in the social, probationary and correctional fields, areas of dedicated concern by the late George E. Meares. 
Assistance up to $1,000 will be granted to two students for 1979-80.
The first recipients were Deborah L. Day of the Howard University Graduate School of Social Work, and Thomas F. Cuffie of North Carolina Central University School of Law at Durham.
