to prestigious organizations such as the American Heart Association, Howard University Medical Research Center, Legal Defense and Education Fund, March Of Dimes Foundations, Meherry Medical College, Mental Retardation Foundation, Michigan Cancer Research Foundation, Moorland-Epringarn Research Center, NAACP, National Association for Sickle Cell Anemia diseases, National Jewish Hospital, National Scholarship Service for Negro Students (NSSFNS), National Urban League, Pine Acres Camp, Inc., PUSH, Inc., School of Veterinary Medicine at Tuskegee 
Institute, UNCF, etc., to upgrade their academic and scholastic achievements. 

In the case of NSSFNS, this organization and the PH family have been working together for years to provide funds for higher education of Blacks and other minorities and poor whites. The NSSFNS organization serves some 50,000 students annually and is the largest counseling and referral agencies in its field, geared especially for minorities. It has a national office in NYC at 1776 Broadway, NY, 10019 and a Southeastern regional office at 965 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, NW, Atlanta, Ga. 30314. NSSFNS works with some 3,000 colleges and universities and more than 8,000 high schools to counsel and direct blacks, poor whites, and other minorities to schools most likely to offer admission and financial aid.

A feature and highlight of the sessions in convention city will be the Monday night and Wednesday afternoon parades. A pretty attraction to be seen will be Miss Tamra D. Synes of Maywood, Ill., the new national "Miss Prince Hall Shrine Queen." She won the $2,500 first place education scholarship in completion with other contestants last year.

The 45,000 plus members in the 350 PH shrine temples, clubs, and courts all over the world are a representation of nearly 350,000 PH Masons, Order of Eastern Star members, plus other in appendant and adoptive rite bodies of the PH family of freemasons.

Some of the highlights of the PH shrine convention in August of 1980 are as follows:

Daily morning devotional services, imperial council and court, 8 a.m.
Daily imperial council and court sessions, 9 a.m.
Sally Berry Fashion Show and Luncheon, Scholarship Fund, 2 p.m.
Twilight Parade, thru the heart of the Black Community, 6 p.m.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 19th, 1980
Youth and Isisterettes drill teams competition, 9 a.m.
Memorial Service, Imperial Court session, 9 a.m.
Public Program of the Imperial court, 3 p.m.
