Nancy Preston recently joined the Greater Houston Convention & Visitors Council's (GHCVC) Convention Sales staff as a Convention Sales Manager, according to an announcement by Leonard E. Rolston, Council President.

In her capacity as a Convention Sales Manager, Preston will be responsible for working with prospective local, state, regional, national, and international association managers and volunteers in promoting Houston as a convention site. She will also be responsible for implementing the marketing strategy and convention promotional activities of the Council.

Preston came to the Council after serving as a Financial Planning Associate for the Southwest Financial Group, Houston. Prior to that, she was affiliated with the Prudential Insurance Company. Preston was graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. degree in Criminal Justice, and subsequently attended Boston University Law School.

Sam Joyner has been named Vice-President, National Field Marketing Manager at Kobrand Corporation, Charles Sipple, President of Kobrand, announced today.

Prior to joining Kobrand, Mr. Joyner was Vice President and Sales Manager for Young's Marketing Company of Los Angeles.

Mr. Joyner, who holds a B.A. degree from the University of California at Los Angeles, presently serves as Chairman of the Inglewood Manpower Commission, the Mayor's Advisory Commission and the area Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Joyner who will be based in California, lives with his wife and two sons in Inglewood, CA.

Appointment of ROBERT P. SAUNDERS to manager, national chain accounts, was announced by George L. Camisa, senior vice president, sales, Somerset Importers, Ltd. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Saunders had been brand manager, Johnnie Walker Black Label, since 1978. Earlier, he had been in charge of markets for Somerset.

Prior to joining Somerset in 1977, Mr. Saunders had been with Seagram Distillers Co. for over ten years. His most recent position there had been manager of special markets.

SOUL SAUCE TACOS
1 lb. ground beef
3/4 cup KRAFT Barbecue Sauce
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon chili powder
Taco shells
Chopped tomatoes
Shredded lettuce
KRAFT Sharp Natural Cheddar Cheese, shredded

Brown meat; drain. Stir in barbecue sauce, water, onion and chili powder. Simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Fill taco shells with meat mixture, tomatoes, lettuce and cheese.

10 to 12 tacos
