The Annual Hall of Fame Luncheon of the John Hunter Society is the affair at which "The Real New Yorkers Meet." The luncheon honored Stanley Thomas, a great swimmer and lawyer; Earl Willie Wynn, the great Howard University basketball phenomenon; James Herbert, NYU's immortal track star.

Also honored at the luncheon were: Jersey Joe Walcott, former heavyweight champion; Ollie Edinboro, great Harlem sidewalk coach me: Leo Banfield and Dr. Alton Warelin.
