AN APPRECIATION DINNER

HONORING
LIVINGSTON S. FRANCIS
Former Executive Director
of the
YMCA OF GREATER NEW YORK

Livinston S. Francis, former Executive Director of the Harlem Branch YMCA has been deeply involved in the field of recreation, social work and education.

Mr. Francis who holds a Masters Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University and a certificate in management and business from Columbia University Graduate School of Business, has been an active executive and administrator in the social services and allied fields for many years. Prior to joining the Harlem Branch YMCA, Mr. Francis served as the Associate Executive Director of Administration with the Community Council of Greater New York.

Mr. Francis is a Certified Social Worker and serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the New York State University at Farmingdale and the Adelphi University School of Social Work.

He has been a consultant to the State Department of Education and State School of Arts; the Urban Coalition; the N.Y.C. Board of Education; the New York City Department of Personnel, and many other private and public agencies, and has been guest lecturer at numerous institutions of higher learning.

At the present time, Mr. Francis is serving as Director of Community Services of the Greater New York Fund.

He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers as well as the Association of Black Social Workers and the Association of Black Agency Executives; Chairman (Region IV) National Conference on Social Welfare; member of the Mayor's Blue Ribbon Committee on Youth; member of 100 Black Men; the Governor's Task Force on Parks and Recreation.

He is Co-author of "The Future of Voluntarism," and several other published articles.

Mr. Francis resides with his wife and their three sons in Roosevelt, Long Island.

Mrs. Mildred E. Long was chairperson of dinner honoring Livingston S. Francis.
