[[box]] The National President's Message "Outlook for the 80's" The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc., will have the opportunity to reflex upon our heritage and renew our efforts in the implementation of our mission during the 80's. We have developed an aggressive Plan of action which will strengthen the future growth of our organization which will enable us to better serve the needs of the people of our communities throughout the United States and Africa. Our goal is to expand community service as mandated by our National Service Programs and through our commitment to the United Nations Decade For Women in the Eighties, highlighting Health, Education and Employment. While we may be impatient with what we perceive as not being enough, I think that impatience is a very real and important element in our Organization's growth and continuing efforts on behalf of our mission. Our impatience should energize us and keep us moving forward with the kind of momentum that is critically needed in our humanitarian services. We have moved along slowly in our attempt to rebuild a sound organization foundation. We have worked very hard to strengthen our internal affairs and simultaneously, our external affairs. In keeping with our commitment to the United Nations mid Decade for Women, NANBPW offered a hand of friendship and assistance to our sisters in Africa. Recently, we were received very warmly and graciously. The Gambia Women's Bureau/National Council of Women accepted our offer to be an affiliate which enabled us to establish our first club in Africa - the turning point in the history of our organization.
