Imperial Potentate,
Noble Harry E. Smith

TOLDEO, OHIO--Harry E. Smith of Toledo, Ohio was elected as the Imperial Potentate of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine of North and South America and Its Jurisdictions, Inc., Prince Hall Shriners, at the 87th Annual Imperial Council Session in Cleveland, Ohio, August, 1980.

Smith is the first black PH Shriner from this state to be elected to the number one spot in the AEAONMS. He is also one of the first blacks in the state of Ohio to serve in prestigious positions formerly held by members of other ethnic groups.

With his election as the new Imperial Potentatwe, Smith is now rated as one of America's outstanding PH Masons and PH Shriners in the state of Ohio and he heads one of the largest fraternal organizations in the world, whose membership is composed mostly of black Americans.
