Gregory R. Smith, Sr., is national product manager on Crown Russe Vodka, Calvert Gin and Henry McKenna Bourbon for Calvert Distillers Company.

Calvert Distillers Company also markets Calvert Extra, Lord Calvert Canadian, Kessler Whiskey, Passport Scotch, John Jameson Irish Whiskey, White Horse Scotch, Burnett's Gin, and Tuaca Liquer.

Mr. Smith joined Calvert last May as a national product manager. Previously, he had been a marketing manager for Revlon, Inc., After working for Lever Brothers Company as a product manager.

Mr. Smith is a 32° Mason, Past Master Boyer Lodge No.1,F&A.M. Prince Hall affiliation, the oldest/continuous May sonic lodge in the country, N.Y.C., a Prince Hall Shriner, High Priest & Prophet Medina Temple No. 19, A.E.A.O.N.M.S., N.Y.C.: trustee of the Mother A.M.E. Zion Church, N.Y.C. (oldest Black Church in U.S.A.), and a board member of James Varick Community Center of New York. He is also worldwide director of public relations for the A.M.E. Zion Church. He had been selected as an award recipient for 1980 by Outstanding Young Men of America.

Mr. Smith has an M.B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, and a B.A. with honors from Livingstone College in Salisbury, N.C.

A Philadelphia native, he is married to the former Brenda Lee Galloway of Eden, N.C. Mrs. Smith teaches business education at Mt. Vernon High School, N.Y. The family resides in Mt. Vernon.

Joe A. Buckhalter, Jr., is manager of military sales for Seagram Distillers Company and, in addition, has responsibility for the Seagram Seven Crowns of Sports program. Earlier he had been assistant Michigan state manager for the company.

Seagram Distillers Company markets Seagram's 7 Crown, Seagram's V.O., Crown Royal, The Glenlivet Scotch, Seagram's Extra Dry Gin, Wolfschmidt Vodka, and Myer's Rum.

A native of Jackson, Miss., Mr. Buckhalter has an outstanding background as a star basketball player, in addition to his more recent experience in executive sales posts in the beverage alcohol industry. He was All-American basketball player from Tilden Tech High School in Chicago; at Tennessee State College he played on two national championship teams; later he played throughout the U.S. and abroad with the Harlem Globe Trotters, and finished his professional career with the Cincinnati Royals.

Prior to joining a Seagram-affiliated company in 1966 he was field sales representative for R. J. Reynolds Tobacco.

Mr. Buckhalter is married to the former Cathy D. Nelson of Laurel, Miss. The family includes one daughter.

Robert A. Monroe is president of Summit Sales Company. He was named to that post in November 1980. Previously, for three years, he had been vice president-director of marketing of the affiliated Calvert Distillers Company.

Summit Sales Company markets Four Roses Whiskey, Carstairs Whiskey, Wilson Whiskey, Paul Jones Whiskey, Mattingly & Moore Bourbon, Palo Viejo Rum, Ron Llave Rum, Granado Rum, 100 Pipers Scotch, Something Special Scotch, Olmeca Tequila, James Foxe Canadian, Famous Grouse Scotch, and Benchmark Sour Mash Bourbon.

A native of Somerville, N.J., and a graduate of Hofstra University, Hempstead, N.Y., Mr. Monroe joined The House of Seagram in 1964 and served in sales and marketing posts of increasing importance. He joined Calvert Distillers division in 1971 as assistant Eastern division manager and he advanced to Eastern division manager, and to group product manager.

Mr. Monroe and his wife, the former Victoria Grier of Valhalla, N.Y., live in Ridgewood, N.J.

Bob Haith joined General Wine and Spirits Company in 1976 as Metro New York field assistant after 17 years with an affiliated company in sales and administrative posts.

A native of Greensboro, N.C., and a graduate of A & T College in that city, he and his wife, the former Patricia Harris, live in Fort Lee, N.J. The family includes one son.

Over the years he has been affiliated with and supportive of various organizations, including NAACP, United Negro College Fund, National Urban League, Harelm [[Harlem]] Commonwealth Council, Jackie Robinson Foundation, Harlem Branch of Y.M.C.A., Bottle and Cork Sales Club, and the American Tennis Association.
