Esquerre brings to the Presidency of that organization an impressive set of credentials which include nine years tenure as a member of Grumman Aerospace Corporation's Board of Directors, a long and distinguished career in aerospace technology and prominence in greater New York civic affairs. Mr. Esquerre's top priority is the establishment of Job and Career Development Committees throughout the National network of nineteen Tuskegee Airmen Chapters. These Committees will be charged with the responsibility of identifying methods and resources which will enable the airmen to "join hands with other credible community-based organizations in the effort to neutralize a deepening problem of youth unemployment which has assumed crisis proportions among Black youth". The Tuskegee Airmen have attained national prominence because of their National Scholarship Fund which annually provides assistance to deserving young Americans whom are pursuing careers in aerospace or aviation. Founded in 1972, by Black airmen who were trained at an all-Black U.S. Army Air Corps training facility near Tuskegee Institute, Alabama, during World War II, the present membership of this organization represents a rich array of talent and leadership from civilian life and all branches of the Armed Forces.
