years at Morehouse that Bob enjoyed and benefitted from some of the most important influences in his life. It was here that Bob was thrust into daily contact with men whose vision and experience would broaden his own horizons, and build within him the confidence that would later carry him to achievement on the world stage.

With his involvement in America's postwar efforts in world rehabilitation, Bob's career blossomed. And as it did so, he became an important counsellor not only to his country's diplomatic and political efforts but also to those of other nations who knew and trusted him as a friend.

After a long and distinguished career at the U.S. Mission to the UN, Bob was chosen to represent the United Nations System of Organizations and Programmes in Nairobi, Kenya, where he again distinguished himself in meeting even more complex and greater challenges. Unexpectedly, Kenya was to be Bob's last post. The world will miss him.
