Dr. William C. Jason of Philadelphia, the fraternity's elder statesman, was a special guest at the recent Omega Second District Conference in Crystal City, Virginia.

Dr. Adam McKee, District Marshal, said that Jason, a personal friend of two of the Omega fraternity founders, received the Brothers expression of gratitude for his continuously outstanding and dedicated work for the fraternity and his church. Jason has a rich collection of information about the fraternity and the United Methodist Church.

For the past sixty (60) years, Jason has served as chairman of many important Omega Committees which have charted the course for the growth of the fraternity. He served as chairman of the committee that wrote the revised edition of the Omega Constitution and Ritual.

Seven years ago, Jason accepted a contract from the United Methodist Conference to write the history of the church. The weekend of May 7, 1982, Jason was invited to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. to serve as a consultant on the life of John Tinley.

Dr. Jason, a lawyer by profession, made national news headlines during his representation of the Black Postal Workers in the late 40's. He was recently featured in a two-hour historical movie on the role Blacks have played in education and religion in the state of Delaware. Jason's father was the first Black president of Delaware State College in Dover, Delaware.
